Perfect for middle school through high school students, this drawing and painting course is designed to help young artists build confidence while learning real art fundamentals.

Throughout the course, students will explore the basics of drawing, painting, color theory, shading, composition, perspective, and creative expression. Each class will focus on a new technique or project, giving students the opportunity to practice their skills while creating finished artwork they can be proud of.

This class is great for tweens and teens who love art, want to improve their skills, or are interested in learning more than just a one-time craft project. No advanced experience is needed, just a willingness to learn, create, and try new things.

Students will learn:

• How to sketch and plan artwork
• Basic drawing techniques and proportions
• Shading, highlights, and blending
• Color mixing and color theory
• Painting techniques using different tools and materials
• How to add detail, depth, and personal style to their work
• How to complete a project from idea to finished piece

This course is a fun and supportive way for young artists to grow their creativity, learn foundational art skills, and enjoy time with other creative kids their age.

After the 8-week course is complete, students will have the opportunity to continue developing their skills in our weekly Tween Art Classes. These ongoing classes will be more involved and will allow students to dive deeper into drawing, painting, mixed media, technique-building, and personal creative style. Students who have taken this course will get a discounted rate for the ongoing weekly Tween Art Classes.

The payment plan for this 8-week course is:

• $100 due at registration
• $100 due before Week 3
• $100 due before Week 6

All payments must be completed by Week 6 of the course. Registration is not considered fully paid until all payments are received.

Because this is an 8-week instructional course, payment plan participants are committing to the full course fee of $300. Missed classes, cancellations, or withdrawing from the course do not remove the remaining payment responsibility.
